She was very relaxed and in beautiful shape.

These images were taken in the evening on a patrol . She entertained us for over an hour and then walked up into the bush.

We had a very big shower on Tuesday which was so good for the area. Now it has gone away again and we have clear blue skies.We need more rain and hope it is coming again. Predator Aware continues in our effort to Save Our Lions and Leopards of the Masai Mara.

Lion protection and conservation education are so important in these Maasai communities and having the Maasai understand the value of Lions for their future . Recently in a school visit we found many of the children only know Lions as the enemy because in the night when a herdsman leaves part of a herd out and some are lost the next morning they naturally blame the Lion or Leopard when in fact it was the herdsman’s fault. If a Lion or Leopard breaks into a poorly built boma or drives livestock out of the boma is it the Lion or Leopard’s fault? Clearly not.

We visited a new school recently and the teacher did not even know the meaning of the word Conservation. She thought we were talking about Cultivation!! We clearly have a long way to go in our work !

Our funding is used on our conservation education programme, what we call Predator Awareness and fuel for our vehicles to get there. It is used for Predator Aware Scouts support (salary and food) and it is used on night and day security and surveillance patrols for Lion and Leopard (vehicles).
